The Lockhouse Wins Award

The Lockhouse
I HAVE JUST RETURNED from the First Annual Havre de Grace Plein-Air Painting Competition, in Maryland. It was a great event and a choice place to paint - an array of old boats, new boats and historic streets were packed into this small city. This particular piece took the
Award of Merit which I am honored to have received. The painting practically created itself: early morning light illuminating a historic lockhouse. I painted in oils for the most part during the 3-day event, but I elected to use acrylic for this piece. I will post a larger painting from the same event with dry-docked boats tomorrow!
