I HAVE CREATED PAINTINGS ON UNUSUAL SURFACES in my time, from ninety foot interior murals to tiny illustrations for books. This is the first time however, I have painted directly on a painters palette. A few weeks ago, I was invited to participate in a gallery holiday show. The theme: painting on an artists palette. I chose this curved shape to paint a landscape I photographed from my hotel window with a sunrise backlighting Niagara Falls.
You can read and view how it was created in a new article on my site,
Landscape On A Palette. As shown above, the most unique feature is that I re-worked a tabletop easel such that the future owner can choose to display the whole unit on a wall or display on a flat surface! The painting and easel are adhered to each other as one complete piece of art.
