THIS IS one of the paintings I submitted as part of the juried 13th Annual Carmel Art Festival in Carmel, CA. It was my first experience participating in this event - a wonderful time. The weather was misty for the mostpart, and the sun only came out a couple of times. This oil painting is probably the fastest, loosest one I've ever created, more like a start than a finish. But the weather prevented me from continuing. I actually felt good about this one. It has the life I wanted to convey with sea breezes, pink flowers covering a beach hillside. Nuff said...I was doubtful about framing and submitting, but I fell in love with this once I had to frame it up . I will paint this scene again but in my more usual way...painterly and with a bit more definition. When I do I'll post it here as a comparison.
