New Paintings: Beach to Garden

Hi Friends,
Finally have a broadband connection along my travels with two new pieces to show you. Both are from very different terrain and much more is on the way.
8 x 10 in. | Acrylic on Linen Panel
I loved this scene as it seemed like a private moment between birds. What great things go on between wildlife that we cannot understand. I placed this into our human context as being like a married couple; one making the other laugh.
20 x 16 in. | Acrylic on Linen Panel
Georgia offers grand views of flowering trees and azaleas. This piece is chock-full of color and textures; water and sky. There is nothing quite like painting both flowering trees above as well as flowers below. Spring is the best time to capture these two venues together. The bulk of this piece was painted on location. The canopy of flowers painted after I left the scene due to weather conditions.
More coming. My series of 10x10 in. pastel paintings of azaleas will be out in a few weeks. Meanwhile, I'll post paintings as they are created during my next two weeks of travel. Thanks for visiting and write me anytime.
Love the finished tree Diane. Glad I got to see it in the beginning stages and then how wonderful it turned out. Love the little laughing birds too. Phyllis in Georgia
